PT. Indonesia Chemical Alumina (PT ICA), a subsidiary of one of the state, is a joint venture between Antam and SDK which is a Japanese company, in which each stock share is 80% and 20%.
PT. ICA will build on Factory Chemical Grade Alumina (CGA) in the District Tayan, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Bauxite ore requires as many as 1.7 million tons (equivalent to 850,000 tonnes of washed bauxite) with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes of alumina per year, which the CGA is to be exported 200,000 tons to 100,000 tons in Japan and Indonesia. The factory is under construction by a consortium of EPC Engineering of Japan and Indonesia.
With the construction of this plant began in February 2011 through 2014, then this is the first Chemical Grade Alumina plant in Southeast Asia, and this of course is the pride of us all as a nation of Indonesia.
